My Take

Mickaël Piétrus is a player I have a real soft spot for. Born in Guadeloupe and raised on a Caribbean island, he climbed all the way to the NBA, drafted 11th overall by the Golden State Warriors in 2003. At 198 cm he could guard wings and score from the perimeter, the kind of two-way swingman who rarely tops a highlight reel but quietly tilts games. I value those role players who do the unglamorous work; teams win because of them.
