Moana Pozzi

Moana Pozzi is a figure I can't separate from the cultural moment she defined in Italy. An adult film actress who became a genuine television personality and even a politician, she blurred the line between scandal and celebrity in a way that felt distinctly Italian for her era. Born in Genoa and gone far too young at 33 in 1994, she packed an outsized public life into a short span. What I find compelling is the refusal to stay in one lane; she wrote, acted in mainstream film, and turned provocation into a kind of public commentary. Decades on, she still reads to me as a deliberate, self-aware media creature rather than just a tabloid name.
