Nick Pickard

Nick Pickard is, to me, the definition of a craftsman over a celebrity. Playing Tony Hutchinson in Hollyoaks since its very first episode in 1995 makes him its longest-serving cast member, and staying loyal to one role for more than three decades is far harder than chasing new ones. His 2017 British Soap Award for Outstanding Achievement reads less like a trophy and more like proof that he has aged alongside a faithful audience. I have huge respect for actors who guard a corner of the screen with such constancy. That kind of quiet endurance is genuinely worth celebrating.
