Olivier Martinez

Olivier Martinez is one of those rare actors where the looks almost work against him — people get so distracted by the whole smoldering Parisian thing that they forget the guy can genuinely act. His César for Most Promising Actor after Un, deux, trois, soleil was earned, and The Horseman on the Roof proved he could carry a sweeping period epic on sheer presence alone. When Hollywood eventually came calling, he held his own opposite some serious talent — his turn in Unfaithful with Diane Lane had a dangerous, magnetic energy that the film really needed. He never quite became the A-list crossover star some expected, but there's something almost cool about that — he stayed interesting, stayed a little mysterious, and never sold out to being just a pretty face in a blockbuster machine.
