Paul Kaye

What I admire about Paul Kaye is his range. He built his name as Dennis Pennis, the merciless prank interviewer who ambushed celebrities, then reinvented himself as a serious dramatic actor, most memorably as Thoros of Myr in Game of Thrones. That swing from gleeful chaos to weathered gravitas is rare, and it tells me he is a genuine craftsman rather than a one-note personality. He carries an oddball intensity onscreen that makes even small parts memorable. I find myself quietly rooting for performers like him, the ones who refuse to stay in a single lane and keep surprising you.
