My Take
Paul Landers earns my deep respect as the engine room of Rammstein. Born in East Berlin and forged in the GDR underground with Feeling B and First Arsch, he carries a punk authenticity that grounds the band's stadium spectacle. As rhythm guitarist he plays the unglamorous role, building the relentless Neue Deutsche Härte wall that lets the show explode around him. Eight studio albums in, that consistency is its own art form. I find players like Landers more compelling than flashy soloists; he's proof that the most important guitar in a band is often the one holding everything together.
