My Take
Phil Neville will forever be one of Manchester United's Class of '92 to me, the dependable utility man who could fill almost any role without complaint. Born in Bury in 1977, he played in his more famous brother Gary's shadow yet carved out a real career on graft and intelligence. His later move into management, including the England women's team and the Portland Timbers, showed how his football brain kept evolving. I also love that he co-owns Salford City with old teammates; that loyalty to the lads he came up with says everything about the kind of pro he was.
