My Take

Predrag Mijatović is the sort of player I deeply respect, a striker who carved a career across Valencia, Real Madrid and Fiorentina without overwhelming physicality at 177 cm. That tells me his game was built on intelligence, timing and touch rather than brute force. Coming out of Podgorica in Montenegro and reaching the elite of Spanish football is no small journey. What I admire most, though, is that he stayed in the game as an administrator, rising to vice-president at Partizan. Plenty of great forwards fade after their boots come off; Mijatović kept shaping the sport from the inside, which to me is the mark of a true football mind.
