Pritam

Pritam earns my respect for the unglamorous road he walked before fame. Starting out writing ad jingles and TV theme music in Kolkata, he built a craftsman's ear long before Bollywood embraced him. That patience shows in his melodies, which feel both popular and quietly sophisticated. Winning Filmfare and National Film Awards confirms what his soundtracks already prove: he understands the emotional pulse of a vast audience. I especially value composers who learn their trade in the trenches rather than arriving fully formed. Pritam's ascent from sound designer to one of India's defining musical voices is genuinely inspiring.
