My Take
Reid Scott is my favorite kind of actor: the reliable scene-sharpener. His Dan Egan on Veep was a masterclass in playing ambition without a soul while keeping it watchable, even weirdly charming, for seven seasons. He then pivoted to the polished menace of Gordon Ford in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and the grounded rhythm of a Law & Order detective. That range suggests a craftsman who studies the machinery of each show and fits himself to it precisely. He may never dominate a poster, but great ensembles are built on actors exactly like him, and I value that.
