My Take

Rob McElhenney represents, for me, the self-made creator at his most relentless. He built It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia from nothing and has kept it running for nearly two decades, a feat of sheer stubbornness I deeply respect. Acting, writing, producing, then turning the video game industry into comedy gold with Mythic Quest, he strikes me as someone who would rather build the room than wait to be invited in. There's an entrepreneur's instinct under the comedian, and a scrappy intelligence that's easy to root for. I'll always back a creator who bets on his own ideas this hard.
