Ronny Chieng

Ronny Chieng has one of the most improbable resumes in comedy, and I love it. A trained lawyer educated in Melbourne, he pivoted into stand-up and clawed his way to a senior correspondent seat on The Daily Show, while also leaving his mark in Crazy Rich Asians. What sets him apart is the velocity of his mind: he weaponizes an Asian and immigrant perspective into sharp, cutting humor that makes you laugh and wince at once. The balance of intellect and bite is exactly my kind of comedy, and I want to see far more of his brand of brainy, fearless satire.
