Claudia Wells

I find Claudia Wells endlessly intriguing because she carries one of cinema's most beloved single roles, Jennifer Parker in Back to the Future, yet never let it define the whole of her life. What strikes me most is the Kuala Lumpur birthplace tucked behind that quintessentially American image, and the quiet decision to step back from acting and build a business of her own. To me that reads as self-possession rather than retreat. She made an indelible mark in 1985 and then chose her own terms, which I respect far more than a desperate cling to fame.
