Samantha Ronson

Samantha Ronson is interesting to me because she carved out a real identity as a DJ and songwriter while operating in a famously connected family. The Ronson name carries weight, yet she built her own lane behind the decks rather than coasting. I appreciate that she trained at New York University and works across singing, guitar, and DJing, which suggests genuine musicianship under the nightlife veneer. She has DJed events for stars including Stevie Wonder, Jimmy Kimmel and Jay-Z, which says a lot about how trusted she is behind the decks. I'd rather judge her by the sets and the songs than the noise around them.
