Sarah Connor

This Sarah Connor is Germany's pop powerhouse, not the film heroine, and she has earned the distinction. Born in 1980 in Delmenhorst, she broke through around 2000 and has stayed near the top ever since, with Echo awards in both 2002 and 2016 bracketing a remarkably durable career. What I find most interesting is her shift from English-language soul toward singing in German; to me that choice traded international polish for genuine intimacy with her home audience. Sustaining two decades at the top takes more than talent, it takes spine, and I genuinely root for her.
