My Take

Scott Barrett embodies the kind of understated leadership I admire in rugby. Standing 197 cm, he anchors the lock position for the Crusaders and Taranaki, and being named All Black captain in June 2024 is no small honour in a country where the jersey carries enormous weight. Coming from New Plymouth and the famous Barrett rugby family, he had a name to live up to, and earning the captaincy on merit tells me he did.
