Sheila Atim

Sheila Atim is the kind of multi-hyphenate I genuinely root for: actress, singer, composer, and playwright, Ugandan-born and London-trained at King's College. The detail I love is that her 2014 debut at Shakespeare's Globe came in a play written by her own acting teacher, which tells me her craft is rooted in the theatre rather than manufactured by film publicity. Two Olivier Awards, an MBE and a Trophée Chopard confirm the talent. I prize performers forged on stage, where there are no second takes, and I would happily travel to hear that voice live. She feels like an artist still climbing toward her peak.
