My Take
Shigesato Itoi fascinates me because he refuses categories. A legendary copywriter, an essayist, the mind behind Nintendo's Mother series, and the editor of his own beloved daily site. Most creators master one lane; he wanders freely and excels in each. What I value most is his gift for plain, warm language. Making complex feelings simple is the hardest writing there is, yet he makes it look effortless. To me he embodies a quietly radical idea: that gentleness and curiosity, not bombast, can be a lifelong creative engine. He's the kind of artist I keep returning to for perspective.
