Shūhei Nomura

I've got a real soft spot for Shūhei Nomura, the Kobe-born actor who just has that easy, lived-in charisma you can't fake. What gets me is how unforced he feels on screen. While a lot of young leading men try so hard to look cool that it curdles, he stays loose, a little wry, like he's not sweating the camera at all, and that relaxed honesty is exactly what makes him magnetic. He won a national Amuse audition in 2009 out of roughly 30,000 applicants, and he speaks fluent Chinese. His posts on X have landed him in hot water more than once, including a 2018 World Cup tweet he apologized for. I just want to see him keep snatching up meaty roles and stirring up trouble, because the screen's better with him loose on it.
