My Take
Kalisto, or Samuray Del Sol, embodies everything I love about lucha libre. At just five-foot-ten, undersized for the business, he flew around the ring against far bigger men, and watching a smaller man topple a giant is the very heart of pro wrestling for me. He won NXT tag gold with Sin Cara as the Lucha Dragons and brought energy to the Lucha House Party in WWE. What I admire most is his current chapter, returning to the independents under his original Samuray Del Sol identity. Going back to your roots to do it your own way takes real conviction, and I respect it.
