My Take
What I admire most about Simon Pegg is that he never waited for permission. He and Edgar Wright built Spaced out of their own obsessions, and that fan-first sensibility carried him from cult British sitcoms into the biggest franchises Hollywood has, without ever feeling like a sellout. Pegg writes, produces, acts, and voices, but the through-line is affection: he genuinely loves the genres he works in, and audiences can tell. To me, he is proof that geek enthusiasm, sharpened by craft and a Bristol-trained brain, is a sustainable career strategy. Few performers have monetized sincerity so gracefully, and fewer still have stayed this likable while doing it.
