Sonu Walia

What draws me to Sonu Walia is that she was never content to coast on her Miss India crown. Winning a Filmfare Award for Khoon Bhari Maang tells me she had real range, the kind of performer who could anchor a film from the supporting slot rather than just decorate it. In an industry that lavishes attention on leading players, I have a soft spot for actors who sharpen a movie from the margins. I find myself imagining the discipline it took to move from pageant stages to demanding character roles, and I respect that quiet pivot toward substance over glamour.
