My Take
Soyou is, to me, the proof that real vocal talent outlasts the idol machine. As a member of Sistar she had the hits, but what impresses me is how she carried her career forward on the strength of her voice alone after the group disbanded. Plenty of idols vanish once the lights dim; she became a genuine balladeer instead. Hailing from Jeju Island and educated at Sungshin Women's University, she pairs a model's poise with a singer's depth. I'd take an artist who can simply stand at a mic and move a room over a dozen manufactured stars.
