My Take
Somers, to me, is one of television's great reinvention stories. Chrissy Snow could have been a disposable sitcom blonde, but her comedic timing made the character iconic, and when she demanded pay equal to her male co-stars and lost the role for it, she was years ahead of the industry conversation. Rather than fade, she built an empire: more than 25 books, thriving businesses, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I do not endorse every health crusade she championed, but I admire the audacity of a woman who refused to let Hollywood define her worth. She died in 2023 still the author of her own story.
