Tommy Flanagan

Tommy Flanagan is one of those actors who makes every scene feel lived-in and real, and I think a big part of that is because his face literally tells a story — those scars from a near-fatal attack he survived in Glasgow only add to the raw authenticity he brings to every villain or hard-bitten outlaw he plays. His breakout in Braveheart and then Gladiator showed he could hold his own in epic company, but it was Sons of Anarchy where he truly found his role: Filip "Chibs" Telford became the soul of that show, a loyal, scarred Scottish biker who somehow felt more American outlaw than most American actors could manage. The fact that a guy from Easterhouse became such an iconic figure in a California motorcycle club drama is honestly kind of beautiful.
