Tommy Haas

Tommy Haas is, for me, a study in stubborn resilience. Reaching world No. 2 in 2002 and taking Olympic silver in Sydney would headline most careers, but what I admire is everything around the trophies. Injury after injury could have ended him, yet he kept clawing back onto the tour into his late thirties. That one-handed backhand off his lanky frame was pure elegance, the kind of shot purists still replay in their minds. Numbers tell only part of his story; the real measure is the sheer refusal to quit. He is the fighter type I will always root for.
