Uhm Ji-won

Uhm Ji-won is an actress I rate highly for depth rather than flash. Born on Christmas Day 1977 and educated at Kyungpook National University, she has built a body of work spanning weighty films like Hope and The Silenced and acclaimed dramas like Little Women. She belongs to that valuable category of performer who raises a project's emotional temperature whether leading or supporting. Rather than chasing star wattage, she builds characters from the inside out. To me she is the kind of actor who only deepens with age, and I expect her finest roles are still coming.
