My Take

Vicky Leandros is Eurovision royalty as far as I am concerned. Winning the 1972 contest with Apres Toi, performing for Luxembourg, made her a continental star, and that song still sounds gorgeous decades on. Greek-born and based in Germany, daughter of the composer Leo Leandros, she turned that breakthrough into a genuinely long and decorated career across multiple languages, even picking up the German Order of Merit. I find it remarkable that she later moved into politics too.
