My Take

Zandra Rhodes delights me precisely because she refuses to behave. Trained at the Royal College of Art, she pushed lurid, fearless color and bold prints into a fashion world that often prizes restraint. What I love is the range: she dressed Diana, Princess of Wales, and also Freddie Mercury and Marc Bolan, gliding between royalty and rock without flinching.
