My Take

Aaron Ramsey is the kind of player I quietly treasure. The Welshman from Caerphilly was a true box-to-box midfielder, covering every blade of grass with a grafter's selflessness rather than highlight-reel flash. At 182 cm he could dominate the middle through sheer industry, and the fact that he fought back from a horrific leg break to deliver for club and country only deepens my respect. Now he's moving into coaching, and I think a player that committed to the unglamorous work will pass on something valuable. I have a soft spot for the engine-room types, and Ramsey is one of the best of them.
