Adam Buxton

Adam Buxton is a comic I find genuinely endearing. Born in Shepherd's Bush and educated at Warwick, he came up alongside Joe Cornish as the duo Adam and Joe, livening up Channel 4 and BBC Radio 6 Music with a playful, lo-fi sensibility. These days his podcast keeps that same warmth alive. What I like is the balance he strikes: clever without being smug, self-deprecating without being needy, which feels like the best of British comedy. The loyalty of working with the same creative partner for decades says a lot about him too. He is the rare humorist who feels like a friend.
