My Take

Alexandra Paul interests me because her career started in modeling in New York before John Carpenter cast her in Christine in 1983, a horror classic that's still discussed today. She kept building through the 80s with American Flyers and 8 Million Ways to Die. What I find most compelling, though, is the activist label that sits alongside the actress credit. Plenty of performers coast on fame, but the ones who put their visibility behind causes earn a different kind of respect from me. At 178 cm, she had the presence for the screen, but the off-screen conviction is what makes her stand out.
