Alycia Debnam-Carey

Alycia Debnam-Carey is one of those actors who snuck up on me — I first noticed her as Commander Lexa on The 100, and honestly her performance there was so layered and magnetic that it felt almost unfair she was carrying that emotional weight so early in her career. She trained at Newtown High School of the Performing Arts in Sydney, and that craft shows; she has a stillness on screen that a lot of young actors just don't have. Her jump from the Australian short film circuit to American genre television and film happened fast, but she never felt out of her depth. I'd genuinely love to see her get a prestige drama role that lets her slow down and breathe — she's built for it.
