Andrea Bang

Andrea Bang won me over as Janet in Kim's Convenience, where her dry timing did the heavy lifting in a deceptively gentle sitcom. What interests me most is that she didn't stop at acting; moving into directing and screenwriting signals someone who wants authorship, not just roles. Three Canadian Screen Award nominations confirm the craft, and directing the short Karaoke Mamas shows where her ambitions lie. I'll keep watching for the stories she chooses to tell in her own voice, on both sides of the camera.
