Angeliño

What draws me to Angeliño is the quiet grit of his career. At 171cm he is not physically imposing, yet he has carved out a career at clubs like Roma and now Deportivo de A Coruña playing left-back, arguably the most demanding position on the pitch. Full-backs rarely get the glory, sprinting up and down the flank to both defend and create. For a smaller player to thrive amid Europe's giants takes intelligence and relentless engine. I admire footballers who win through craft and stamina rather than size, and Angeliño strikes me as exactly that kind of understated professional.
