Antonia Gentry

Antonia Gentry is a young talent I am genuinely excited to watch grow. Born in Atlanta and a drama student at Emory University, she strikes me as a grounded, hardworking sort. Her breakthrough as Ginny in Ginny & Georgia is what won me over: she played adolescent instability and that prickly mother-daughter tension with a lived-in honesty rather than melodrama. Carrying the complicated emotions of that generation is no easy task, and few performers her age do it convincingly. The accolades have not yet arrived, but I sense a real future in her delicate, observant work, and I am eager to see her stretch.
