Azam Ali is, to my ear, one of the most quietly significant voices in global music. Born in Tehran and shaped by Persian tradition, she built a body of work with VAS, Niyaz and as a soloist that refuses easy categorization, blending ancient Middle Eastern melody with modern texture.
