Lully Miura

I'll be honest, the first time I saw "scholar of international politics" under her name on a TV panel, I braced for something dry and lecture-y. Then she actually talked, and it threw me, this soft, almost gentle voice quietly laying out an argument while everyone else is busy raising theirs. Born in Chigasaki in Kanagawa, all the way to the University of Tokyo, you can feel the sharpness underneath the calm. What I find interesting is that she didn't just stay in the academy; running her own outfit too, she clearly wants ideas to do something out in the real world, not just sit on a page. She's a genuinely divisive figure, and I get why, but I respect that she stands on her own words and doesn't hide behind the title. That spine is the part that sticks with me.
