Bonobo

What I admire most about Bonobo is his refusal to let electronic music feel cold. Simon Green builds tracks out of programmed loops yet keeps the warmth of real instruments breathing underneath, and the choice to recreate everything live with a full band tells you he cares about texture and human feel, not just the grid. His arc from trip hop into jazz and world music shows a restless curiosity I find genuinely rare. He makes music that works alone at midnight and on a crowded floor alike, and that emotional range is exactly why his sound has aged so gracefully for me.
