Haruka Shimazaki

I have a soft spot for Paruru, and it's exactly because she never bothered to play the part. Here's an AKB48 idol whose whole thing became the "salt response" - the famously cold, unsmiling, can't-fake-it vibe that should have sunk her but somehow turned into her signature instead. I find that weirdly trustworthy. Plenty of idols flash the obligatory smile until it goes dead behind the eyes, but a quiet kid from Saitama who just let her real mood show up on her face and survived dead-center in that enormous group? That takes a kind of stubborn honesty I genuinely respect. These days she seems to do her own thing on YouTube and as a TV personality, moving at her own pace, and honestly that unbothered, shoulders-down energy feels like the most Paruru she's ever been.
