Brian Bell

I have a soft spot for the players who anchor a band rather than front it, and Brian Bell is exactly that. Twenty studio albums of rhythm guitar and backing vocals with Weezer is a staggering record of consistency, and consistency is harder than flash. What makes him more interesting to me is that he did not stay only in the supporting seat: fronting The Relationship and Space Twins shows a restless creative streak that needed its own outlet. I read him as a true lifer musician, the kind whose value compounds quietly over decades. That kind of steady, unglamorous dedication earns my genuine respect.
