Britt Ekland

What I find compelling about Britt Ekland isn't the sex-symbol label that 1960s cinema slapped on her, but what she did afterward. Plenty of beautiful actresses of that era were treated as decoration and faded. Ekland instead became an autobiographer, reclaiming the narrative that others had built around her. That move from object to author tells me she understood the game she was in. Coming out of Stockholm to crack the international screen took real nerve, and the way she has aged into a storyteller rather than a faded starlet earns my quiet respect.
