My Take
What I find quietly admirable about Kristina Wayborn is the sheer nerve of the journey. Born Britt-Inger Johansson in Nybro in Sweden's Kalmar County, she went from athletics and beauty pageants to building an acting career in Britain and the United States, far from anything familiar. Reinventing yourself in a foreign film industry, in a second language, takes a particular kind of steel that rarely gets celebrated. She is not a household name, but she belongs to that hardy generation of Scandinavian talents who simply packed up and bet on themselves abroad. I respect that understated, self-made trajectory.
