My Take
Captain Sensible is the kind of figure I genuinely cherish: a punk who never lost his sense of fun. Co-founding the Damned in 1976 puts him at the birth of British punk, yet the red beret and white-framed sunglasses signal someone who treated the movement as play as much as rebellion. Switching from bass to guitar shows a restless musicality I admire. Too often punk gets remembered as pure anger; Sensible embodies its mischievous, joyful side. I love artists who hold a clear identity for decades while still grinning through it all.
