Cher Lloyd

Cher Lloyd is a real survivor of the talent-show era. Finishing fourth on The X Factor could have been the end, but she turned that runway into a launchpad, signing with Syco and Epic and dropping Sticks and Stones in 2011. What I admire is the edge she brought to British pop at a moment that craved something brattier and bolder. The industry chews up young contestants, yet she carved out a genuine identity rather than fading into novelty. If she is still recording and performing, that persistence speaks louder than any chart position ever could.
