My Take

Chiara Caselli embodies the intelligent glamour I associate with the best of Italian cinema. The Bologna-born actress swept both the Nastro d'Argento and David di Donatello for Best Actress in 1994, then crossed over into American film opposite River Phoenix and Keanu Reeves in My Own Private Idaho and later John Malkovich in Ripley's Game. What draws me to her is the range beyond acting: she also directs and works as a photographer.
