My Take

Choi Tae-uk's second act is what I find quietly admirable. A 173 cm forward out of Incheon who, after his playing days, stepped into the role of assistant coach for the South Korea national team. I respect the choice to trade the spotlight of the pitch for the bench, where the work is teaching, organising, and pushing younger players forward. That transition from doing to guiding is harder than it looks, and it rarely earns applause. Yet these are the people who form the spine of a squad. He climbed from a port city to the national stage, and now he passes the torch.
