My Take

Courtenay Taylor is one of those performers whose face I would not recognize but whose voice I would know anywhere. Jack in Mass Effect, Ada Wong in Resident Evil, the female Sole Survivor in Fallout 4, Caiatl in Destiny, she has shaped some of gaming's most memorable characters using nothing but voice. Born in 1969 in San Francisco, she demonstrates a range that is pure craftsmanship. Because her image stays hidden, what lodges in players' memories is character and presence alone. That is, to me, an underrated form of artistry, and I think voice actors of her caliber deserve far louder applause.
