Dana Gillespie

Dana Gillespie strikes me as the kind of artist whose value compounds quietly over decades. Anyone can have a hot streak in their teens, but staying in the game across more than seventy albums, the stage of Jesus Christ Superstar and a film career takes real grit and adaptability. What I admire most is her refusal to be a one-note novelty; she settled into blues and just kept working. I find longevity far more impressive than a single moment of fame, and Gillespie embodies the unglamorous, durable craftsmanship I tend to root for in any performer.
