My Take
Daphne Rubin-Vega will always be linked to Rent, and rightly so. Originating Mimi Marquez in that 1996 Broadway premiere is the kind of credit that defines a career, and it earned her a Theatre World Award. What I admire is that she didn't get boxed in by it.
